Another "Idol" is coming to the Ralph. American Idol alum Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town have scheduled a concert at Ralph Engelstad Arena for September 27.

WOW! I was wondering when we'd get another country act to perform in Grand Forks!

Sweet! Carrie Underwood's a good singer and all, but if only I could get jaw-droppingly close enough to see her...

Cool, she's hot!

I wonder what ever happened with CMT On Tour with Sugarland? Is this supposed to be the replacement?

Anonymous said...

This isn't a replacement. The Sugarland concert was officially cancelled months ago and refunds were given. Been in a cave?

Bleeecchhh... who cares? She's just another pre-packaged pop/country act with no substance. Anything that comes from American Idol is hardly what I would call music..

another insightful comment from greenglass4

we all know you have a vendetta against him....get over it

Who's Carrie Underwood?

Anon 8:38: haven't been in a cave, just hadn't heard anything about it and was asking. I did check the Ralph's site before asking, and there was no information.

does carrie underwood know our mall smells like a diaper?

Porbably not, but she probably does realize that the Ralph simply cannot be matched! Think about how blessed we are to have two top-notch entertainment facilities in a town of 55,000. The Ralph is very likely the nicest place Carrie will have ever played.

Meh... the Ralph is a great place to watch a sporting event, but is only a so-so venue for a concert. The sound just isn't as nice as other options.

Sad day at campus... a professor was found dead at her desk. :-(

When did Overtime Bar & Grill officialy close? I just drove by there and saw that the sign that usually advertises specials just says "CLOSED".

REA just ok...wow - who woulda thunk it?? I guess that is what $100 mill gets you nowadays.

that's what a poorly-spent $100 mill will get you nowadays

12:43...There are MANY arenas in America that blow away the Ralph. You need to get out more. The point about the Ralph is, it's a great arena for a college hockey team in a small town. Also, the fact that there are virtually no unfinished areas (meaning concrete, etc) seperates it (a little).

The Ralph will be the nicest hockey rink that Carrie has ever been to. It was not designed for Music (just hockey pucks). It is one of the nicest hockey rinks in the world.

Name one arena that is nicer than the Ralph. I might drive or fly to it to verify! (I will also eat my boot) I have been to many, and none hold a candle to the Ralph.

agree local boy...I have been to many major venues in many major cities. The music at REA sounds just as good as other arenas (just fine for pop country) and the fit and finish blow away any other arena I have been to. Any other arenas have leather and cherry wood for every seat and NO unfinished area?

the only reason it sounds the same is because it's smaller then any other hockey arena...you go to places like the Pepsi center in Denver or the Staples Center in LA and they all sound just as good for places holding twice the people the Ralph does...when i go to a hockey game, I don't care about cherry wood and leather seats...i wanna be able to stand on those seats and cheer for my team. You can't do that at the Ralph because people like you yell at us to sit down...that's pretty lame in my book

When do tickets go on sale??????????????????
