Why put a Pamida-like variety store in the mall, Stammen asked, when Pamida is already doing fine on Gateway? “We definitely don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul.“
I chuckled at the quote above from the River Walk story in today's Herald. It's a very good thing that EGF has a concern for other businesses. But, it never stopped G.F. in their "recovery".
I would just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
When is the Texas Roadhouse opening? It looks pretty close to complete. Anyone know???
As far as the Texas Roadhouse...who knows. Their website has a list of new restaurant openings through Feb, and GF is not on the list. The structure looks nearly complete and their signage is in place, so I certainly doubt it would be beyond Feb. opening. They must have just left it off the list for some reason. It does look like an opening in January would be most likely with the way the building looks, though.
I personally like the suggestions for the city-owned mall in EGF. Stores just aren't going to work there. Break it up in 3 parts: A place to eat, a great IMAX movie theatre, and a museum dedicated to me.
You guys sure like to talk about food a lot.
heh heh heh...
yup, we do...by the way, I noticed an ad in the Herald classifieds for managers for a new Denny's in Grand Forks...looks like that will be coming soon as well!
Ben, I just heard that yesterday, but I forgot to look in today's Herald. If Denny's is really coming to Grand Forks, I'm interested to know where it's going and when it's opening. I've always wondered why we didn't have a Denny's. For that type of restaurant, I've always liked Denny's better than Perkins, Village Inn, and IHOP. Denny's has actually been one of the restaurants I've most wanted in town.
Would it be possible that Denny's is looking to take the place of Capones? I haven't heard of any other spots going up, and it seems they want managers relatively soon.
