Allegiant Air starting service on Monday

On Monday, Allegiant Air, will debut its twice-weekly, non-stop flights between Las Vegas and Grand Forks International Airport.  (press release

The discount airline is utilizing 150-seat planes for the flights.  Allegiant Air has advertised one-way ticket prices as low as $99 between Grand Forks and Las Vegas.  However, a search of the airline's website shows ticket prices as low as $29 (Monday, October 6) and as high as $329 (Friday, December 5).

Are you excited to see Grand Forks finally getting service from another airline?  Are you planning to utilize these flights in the near future?  What other destinations would you like to see added by Allegiant or other potential airlines?

I think it's fan-tibilly-tastic!! Think of all the people who will fly down to have a quickly Las Vegas wedding!! WEEEE!! One thing for sure we sure don't need to worry about raising gambling addictions though, as we have all been around the casino's and black-jack tables plenty. Who knows, maybe this will even bring money TOO GF?? One could only hope! I can hear the slot machines now.....
It's great we can expand, maybe next we can have straight flights other places like Disney World!!
Was that to much sarcasm? Not enough? I think it's great, seriously. Watch out spring break!!!

Personaly, I kinda don't care. I don't have enough discressionary income to take a vacation in the forseeable future, especially to somewhere that will probably vacuum my wallet clean.

Professionally, I suppose that it may help keep some Grand Forks money in Grand Forks. I'm sure that when locals drive to Fargo or MPLS airports they spend more money out of town. It may even bring some cash to town as out-of-towners spend money here.

Morally, I don't care at all. We have charitable and state sponsored gambling here. At least the prostitutes in Nevada are regulated. (unless the republicans deregulate them too)

Please buy local, help the local economy (except for the prostitutes).

I think it is great, why not. Not like it is going to hurt anything if it turns out not to be profitable then they will stop.

R. Englestadt wasn't much more than a pimple on Las Vegas's ass......

More importantly,I'm not sure if I used the correct spelling on "vegas's". Did I use the apostrophe and "s" correctly? Please help me out there, I've always been confused about that... Thanks.

i just flew on the Allegiant flight on Friday! Good price, almost full flight. They do charge for anything you eat/drink on the flight - i.e. a few bucks for just a soda! We need more airlines coming into Grand Forks so if Allegiant Air does well, then...who knows? more will follow?
