Alright, my favorite thing about this blog is finding out about who's building what where...so I start by asking if anyone knows what's being built by Sam's Club/Grease Monkey?

a new Lithia Toyota location - should be a pretty large new car dealership.

anyone see that lithia hyundai has closed?

They sold their car?

For whatever reason, even when it was owned by Hanson, they were pretty laxidasical about the dealership. There was never enough inventory in the place to take it too seriously.

Not a big surprise that they're gone, the only question is what (if anything) will replace it? Would be nice to see a higher end dealership -- there are a fair number of BMW and Lexus driving around here, in spite of the nearest dealerships being in Minneapolis, as well as Mercedes, Audi and VW, mostly from Valley Imports in Fargo.

Supposedly, Lithia is pulling all three dealerships---Hyundai, Chrysler, and Ford. The marbles will be on the new Toyota shop, the master plan, so to speak.

What's coming up just east of the airport?

I hate Valley Imports. They have a complete monopoly. Why doesn't someone open an import dealership here?

"I hate Valley Imports."

I hate, I hate. What a boorish statment to make! Sometimes the immaturity level of posters in blogs makes me wonder why I return with regularity.

If you find something that you don't agree with, fine; but, "I hate?" More of the spoiled kid syndrome, for sure. If it doesn't work for you, what are YOU doing to improve the situation?

C'mon.

Does anyone else feel the reporters (specifically WDAZ) have gone too far lately? Do we really need to find the only opening of a tent (set up to keep onlookers at bay) when bones are found? We didn't know how new/old these were. Yet there is WDAZ with the camera showing us them digging. And how about the incident at the Broken Drum. Do we really need to find blood on the parking lot and show that? A man died, have some respect. Same goes with when WDAZ is the first on the scene of an accident (sometimes beating first responders), and showing the persons face. You know, they may have family watching the news, and now they have to worry about calling them to make sure they find out from a person, not from watching the local news! I think they have gone too far, and it's time to quit watching.

anon@10:52 ... Wow, why are you so riled up because someone said "I hate".... have you gone outside lately? People don't literally mean everything they say. I'm sure the guy doesn't ACTUALLY have a deep burning hatred for Valley Imports. Have you ever heard someone say "It's burning hot outside!"? I'm assuming the person wasn't actually engulfed in flames.

It's the internet, sarcasm and exaggeration reign supreme. Don't take things so seriously.

I hate it when people jump on people like this.

Oh guess I did the same thing.

Nice to see that the "Things I love about GFKS" threads continue to draw more than the open threads.

There's hope for us, yet! :o)

I am lusting for an import dealership that is burning hot in this hateful Godforsaken town...

actually I would like to buy an Audi but don't know if I can get it serviced in GF and I do NOT want to have to deal with Valley Imports.
(mostly because of the hate)

Remember "Volkers Imports" located next to Westward Ho. Warren Volker was the youngest Mercedes Dealer in USA. Wes R often use to stop in to check on how we were doing. He had some excellent mechanics who are still in town. I agree with the other comment "don't take things so seriously, loosen up. greenglass4.

Lust I can understand.

The word 'hate' is the one that throws me off.

I'd sure hate to offend Greenglass, btw.

Question for the import people. You looking for a imports dealer that specializes in new cars or slightly used?

For me, at least, it's less a matter of the sorts of cars that they're selling than it is having a dealer who can fix stuff locally. I recently talked to Lexus and BMW dealers in the Twin Cities, and both said that routine maintenance needed to be done there, and any major repairs would be dealt with by them coming to get the car on a flatbed (and bringing it back the same way, I guess.)

Fargo is a better option, though the same problem remains, just a shorter distance to drive.

When I drove a BMW, I had it serviced in Winnipeg. Full factory service and a trip to a great city to boot!

Thanks Dale for your response.

So....BIG SURPRISE NEWS FLASH...Tom Buning resigned today. Thoughts?

Given my experiences crossing the border, I can well picture the scene:

Guard: What's the purpose of your visit to Canada?
Me: Have to get my oil changed.
Guard: Okay, smart guy, outta the car!

Winnepeg is a great city with a lot of culture.

On the Tom Bunning deal, I am wondering how long it will be before someone sues the school on the freedom of information act?

Lastly, I want to get fired from a job and get about a 137,000.00 settlement. Wow...

I want to own a slighty used audi A6 or A8....but DO NOT want to drive to fargo or winnipeg to get the thing serviced.

UND AD?
They fired the wrong guy. The one that should go, stays.

Why can't they paint the lines on the road in this town. Nothing like people driving on the wrong side of the road approaching 32nd on those roads where there are 3 lanes one way, and 1 lane going the other.

Results of 46 question survey: Bunning has leadership problems, the working environment was extremely dysfunctional under Bunning, there was zero confidence and zero trust in the athletic director Bunning, that he does not understand athletics at UND, too full of himself (witness his embarrassing pushups/sideline show). Bunning was AWOL from athletic program at UND. Hired attorney who was a Minn Gopher supporter in Twin Cities and threats of Fed Law against UND. greenglass4.

I gotta admit, those push ups look pretty dang stupid on tv. Kudos to WDAZ for showing them repeatedly.
