Another new Grand Forks blog

Another Grand Forks-related blog has popped up on the local blogosphere. Our friend Tu-Uyen Tran over at the Grand Forks Herald just started his own blog, Grand Forks City Beat. Check it out! Tu-Uyen is the city beat reporter at the Herald so I expect to see plenty of interesting stories and views on his blog. It's also interesting to see what goes into his reporting for the Herald. He's been covering the proposed UND germ lab for the Herald so his blog, in turn, has had interesting posts relating to the whole "Oakville Prairie" controversy.

Tu-Uyen even gave a little shout-out to me and Dakota Huseby in his first post...wasn't that nice of him! I know I'll be a frequent visitor to Tu-Uyen's blog and I hope you all follow suite.

Oh man, the competition is heating up! Grand Forks might end up with even MORE blogs now! ;-)

I'll vote for whoever gets a digital camera first. ;)

I have a digital camera but considering what I cover, do you really want pictures? Come to think of it, there really is an awful lot of people that like watching City Council TV on Monday nights. Tune in to channel 2 at 7 p.m. if you want see what city politics is like. (Hint: boooring.)

Boring?!? Watching the city council is a Monday night tradition for me! Yep, I need a life. :)

Oh come on, Tu-Uyen! Give the city council station a chance! :) I watch it ever monday (if I doesn't slip my mind)

I'm always surprised that what I find drudge others find, well, fun. I admit those guys can be funny sometimes, but 90 percent of the discussion is about pretty pedestrian stuff, like new sidewalks.

The worse is when they ham it up for the TV audience. Cripes. That discussion about lending money to PS Doors and Concrete Inc. on Monday night? Was there a council member that didn't talk about how wonderful it was to create new jobs?

Anyway, I'm glad you guys are paying attention. You can't believe everything you read!

Gershman usually complements new and expanding businesses in Grand Forks. The rest just sit and and say "aye".

Well, isn't it wonderful to create new jobs, Tu-Uyen? I don't see anything so bad about congratulating businesses for growing and expanding. :)

Gershman really seems to want to be at the council meetings and doesn't seem to be in such a hurry like some other members. I also like the fact that he is vocal in supporting new businesses.

Whoa. Didn't notice this post. Too late to reply, probably.

Yeah, it's great to have new jobs. It's just that the agenda can be long. When you pair that with council members in a talkative mood... Ai, chihuahua, my head's gonna explode.
