Poll results: New uses for Target space
According to the results from the recent poll question "What would you like to see go in the old Target space?", many people would like a book store to set up shop in the long vacant space at Columbia Mall. (results)

I'd like the Columbia Mall to have stores like I see in the Malls in Winnipeg. Book store,Drug store,Grocery store. That's convience.
OK, who is it that's posted the Darden Restaurants (including a stock quote!) twice now, and what's your agenda?

I certainly don't mean to be rude, but do you have any idea how a business operates? Our market has to fit the business plans of these organnizations, and lobby as you may, but I am doubting that Barnes & Noble (or any subsequent investors in a Grand Forks B&N)would be willing to invest in a THIRD bookstore in the mall and a second B&N in such a small city.
Barnes and Noble and BDalton are related, so you probably won't find a B&N and a BDalton in the same mall. My guess.
How about some sort of indoor amusement area? This would be a great fit for that part of the mall as it is within walking distance of the area hotels.
There could be an indoor mini golf course (no excuses that the winter weather is a hardship) or even have someone make a bigger arcade/indoor go-cart track (with ventilation) along with a pizza/snack bar area too.
Whoever chooses to go into that spot should look at what else tourists/shoppers like to do when visiting a new location.
Think of all the school age kids who stay at those area hotels when here for a sporting event.
Who wants to see a Whole Foods store in the old Leever's spot? Me, me, me...!
