New poll: WDAZ fav

This poll has been suggested before and I was a little reluctant to do it. However, I think it could be a fun change of pace and I think it could end up being a very popular poll. Ok, so here's the question..."Which female WDAZ personality is your favorite?" Everybody knows that WDAZers are forced to go incognito on this blog, but I don't think that has stopped them from lurking...I hope they get a kick out of this.

I leave it up to you to decide what qualities you base your vote on. Since she's turned her back on us and skipped off to Appleton, our friend Lacey can't be in the poll even if she really wants to be. Don't worry, ladies...I suppose I'll have to do a "Which male WDAZ personality is your favorite?" poll in the future. We all know the winner of that one would be Terry Dullum. I'm an equal opportunity blogger.

Oh yeah...and have fun voting for yourselves, ladies! Really...

  3. Where the hell is schwab? C'mon GFG, in general, you have a pretty poor record picking poll options.

Schwab is a train wreck, but he is the best reporter, his reports actually contain CONTENT.

  4. You mean our favorite "lack of personalities"

    What a joke.

  5. This is about as childish as it gets.

  6. Can't just pick one!!! Tammi and Jessica!!!!!!

  7. First of all...I didn't know people watch the news for eye candy...most of us at WDAZ are actual journalists who went to school to write and investigate stories...not to win beauty pageants. Second of all...learn to spell...it's Tami!

  8. I agree with Lacey. I think this thread encourages unkind comments from people who judge reporters, anchors and journalists by what they wear, hair style etc. This has as much substance as Taco Johns/Subway posts.

  9. Lacey Crisp (oops...doesn't count since she's on WGBA in Green Bay now), Tami Obsorne, and Jessica Dugan are pretty good.

David Schwab is an airhead. He alway loses track on what he's saying and has a lack of personality.

  10. Sorry i don't generally get my news locally. So i don't have an opinion on this one.

  11. So, you posted to say that you have nothing to say?

  12. I think people can pick their favorite without it being based on looks. And if there are people choosing their favorite based on looks, who cares?? It's not like the results of this poll decides which of them gets fired or something. It's just a poll. I think people need to relax.

  14. I vote for the girl that was so cute...a dude tracked her down and smacked her on the head with a frying pan. N.D. must have left a real lasting impression on her, so much that she moved all the way to FLA.

what's next? best radio voice on knox?

  16. Best radio voice on KNOX: Howard.

  17. That third guy stole my gimmick. The Schwab rules.

  18. First off, the news reports that any of the local stations do are poor quality and of little informational value because of their brevity. Second, I do judge the newscast on appearance and ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Unfortunately, none of the newscasters (male or female) manage to accomplish the latter part, but at least Cassi and Stacey are/were presentable. Thank you, Anonymous, for tracking down Stacey and reminding people that we used to have someone that gave a decent public image to the region.

  19. Haha...I knew this poll was going to get some interesting responses.

"Where the hell is schwab? C'mon GFG, in general, you have a pretty poor record picking poll options."
Ummm...didn't you read the entire poll question? What is it with all of this pro-Schwab stuff on this blog and Tuey's blog? And what other polls have I done poorly on? Actually, I rather pride myself on picking a good, logical assortment of answers. Some other polls...local and national...are pathetically put together.

"First of all...I didn't know people watch the news for eye candy...most of us at WDAZ are actual journalists who went to school to write and investigate stories...not to win beauty pageants. Second of all...learn to spell...it's Tami!"
Hey Lacey...who said this poll had anything to do with looks? I leave it up to the voters as to what qualities they choose to vote on. Personally, I voted based on ability...not looks. You're just jealous because you're not on it!

"I think people can pick their favorite without it being based on looks. And if there are people choosing their favorite based on looks, who cares?? It's not like the results of this poll decides which of them gets fired or something. It's just a poll. I think people need to relax."
Exactly! Just have some fun for a change, people.

  20. If it's not meant to inspire comments about looks, than why is it a female thing? How about best reporter?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Who said that sex had anything to do with looks? If it was best male reporter, what would you find to complain about then?

  22. Who's Howard?

    What's KNOX?

  23. I'm bothered by the term "personalities" or "talent" when it comes to describing television journalists. I know that's how the WDAZ web page and many other television news stations label their on-air staff.

It would be nice to see broadcast journalists, photo journalists, anchors and producers listed in a more professional way, lending credibility to the news department.

    Just my two cents.

  24. My vote is for : Lisa Green !She is hot and knows the weather better than Too Tall Tom !

  25. I didn't like the reading style of the most recent WDAZ weekend news anchor. Her sing-song delivery made me queasy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Easy, Christine Rucks

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oops, wrong girl, I'm getting locations mixed up, Christine Reid is what I meant.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Criminy, how many WDAZ insiders do we have on this post?? It must be 50-50 or something.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How come Sparks doesn't really have any votes? Haven't you guys seen Megan? She's...uhhh...a really good reporter! :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree Sparks is a good reporter but my vote goes to Reid 'cause she's better.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Her report at the site of the Minneapolis bridge disaster was strange. She had nothing of additional news to offer and if delivery is important to viewers, well it was lacking. I couldn't figure out why DAZ sent her there just to stand in front of the bridge and repeat the same story. Kind of like the Exponent trying to cover the Utah mine disaster-and waiting until today. Please just let her stay home and cover regional news.

    ReplyDelete
  32. She was visiting family at the time so it was just a matter of timing.

    ReplyDelete
  33. But the report was redundant and when she referred to "people still stuck in their cars" it made me flinch. This wasn't rush hour traffic. They were dead. What did that have to do with timing?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm still trying to figure out who the hell Christine Rucks is. Something smells awfully fishy here.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Tami has the BEST blonde hair I have ever seen. Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think a couple of the WDAZ personalities must be forcing everybody they know to vote for them. Ms. Dugan and Ms. Reid were not leading the pack at the start, but now they have come out of nowhere. The other four have had similar percentages throughout the poll. For what's it's worth, I think this is a great idea for a poll, GFG.

    ReplyDelete
  37. First of all, I wasn't fond of Lacey as the weekend anchor. Her never ending head bobs drove me insane. And unfortunately I can't say that I'm any happier her replacement, Casey. I have also noticed her sing-song style of delivery. On the other hand, if voting was based on looks, my vote would go to walder, sparks and ried. And as far as reporting goes, they all do an okay job. It's north dakota for christ sakes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. North Dakota.

Where anonymous posters can spill their guts, oblivious of grammatical mistakes.

Sometimes it feels like Walmart or the Golden Corral in this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Rucks is Reid's real name but it rhymes too much with you know what for TV. (That's what I meant by too many WDAZ insiders on this post.)

It could be worse though. There used to be this anchor named Niceswanger and he definitely had to use a pseudonym.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It appears that Lacey is getting a little defensive, Tammy or Tammi everyone knows who he was talking about. I don't watch the local news DAZ because they are god awful. KVRR on FOX is worse. There was a reason that the sports babe Marney Gelner (if I spelled her name wrong tough) left for FSN instead of staying in Grand Forks, its a dead end job in a dead end market...

If you think people don't watch the news because there are attractive personalities how come you see so little of Candy Crowely on CNN and all of the other hotties they roll out instead of her.

News casting/television news is a very vain business and if you don't have the looks your in Radio...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah the head of the cities public info office couldn't be caught dead with that name even though it is his own...

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think Andrea Larson on KVLY is a super hottie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Jessica Dugan's number of votes has practically doubled since this afternoon. Jessica, how many times are you going to vote for yourself? This is rather pathetic. Everyone knows you're the one doing the multiple voting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey Anonymous, did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, she works during the day covering stories oh say like - the tornado!!!! And probably isn't worried about this poll much less "doing the multiple voting". Dude, you need to get a life!!! What is pathetic is the fact that you care way more about this poll than anyone if you are checking it multiple times a day! Why don't you go and help with the clean up if you have so much time on your hands!
