It seems like it's been kind of a slow time lately for local news. See...that's why those tips should be rolling in! A little help is always appreciated.
So, what's up?

Thought it interesting to watch the Republicans "eat their own" last night.
Polls and public opinion may not sway the White House but it certainly sways the party.
Jan 20, 2008 can not come soon enough!!!!
Amen and amen. I'm no fan of Tom Tancredo, but I salute his candor.
I'm already sick politics and the election is 17 months away!

Was just thinking about that this morning!
The current results on the "blogger banning" poll are very close. It's odd because that wasn't the case a week or two ago. For the first week or so after I put the poll up, voters were overwhelmingly opposed to the tribe's decision. That's not the case with the current results. Why the shift? Has somebody put out the message to tribal members (or other interested parties) that they should vote in the poll? Obviously anybody can vote in the poll...it just makes me wonder what has changed in the last few days that has altered the results so much?
Anyone have a pulse on Lithia Ford dealership?
Certainly a lack of new vehicles on their lot---a change from what we were accustomed to when the Hansen's owned the business.
The quality of the Ford dealership has gone down since becoming Lithia.
For those that don't know, Al's is now open in their new location. Ive driven by a few nights this week and he looks to be pretty steady in the evenings especialyl compared to what Capone's used to look like
If you drive around the state you will find most of the dealerships are really light on new vehicles. I'm not sure if they are just not sending as many here, or if the dealers don't want the high inventory.
I have to say that I have heard almost nothing but negative feedback about Lithia. Hansen's may not have been perfect, but Lithia does not appear to be a very good dealership. I've had many bad things about customer service and problems that people have been having with Lithia refusing to honor certain parts of Hansen's warranties. I too have noticed (and have heard plenty of people talking about) the lack of cars on the lot. Makes me think that Lithia has already turned so many people off they can't even get people to buy new cars...sad. After hearing what I've heard, I will never buy a car at Lithia. In this case, I might have to drive to Fargo if I wanted a new Ford. Never thought I would say that!
Grandforks guy, please don't go to Fargo! There's a great Ford dealership over in Crookston, if you really don't want to go to Lithia. I wondered if something wasn't up when I saw a guy with a Ford Focus getting his car fixed at Rydells.
Well if you want to buy something from Hansen's go by a boat or cycle !Go to Grafton, much better. The signs at Litha are temps, they may be moving or changing hands soon. Wes may buy them and sell Chevys there. greenglass4.
I had my Taurus repaired at Lithia last fall, and it took several extra days for a relatively minor repair. The part was on hand in the shop, so it definitely wasn't a shipping issue.
Yikes, I've got a story too. My sister took her 02 Taurus there to get a crunching sound fixed. They said they couldn't replicate it themselves, so sent her home unhappy on three different occasions. We finally called Customer Service at Ford corporate (who were wonderful), they contacted the dealer directly and magically the problem was solved on the next visit.
